Hacking never stops! The Big Hack by Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition marks now its sixth edition, even more interesting and rich in prizes than the previous ones.
This upcoming 2022 edition is, in fact, no exception: scheduled from 24 to 27 June, in a digital format, features partners and challenges of unrivalled quality.
The Big Hack 2022 is promoted by the Campania Region and organized by Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition with Sviluppo Campania and in collaboration with the Apple Developer Academy of the University of Naples “Federico II”. Developers, coders, makers, engineers, designers, startups, students and marketing and communication experts are expected to participate.

A long story short
For several years now, The Big Hack has welcomed students, makers, designers, developers engineers, aspiring entrepreneurs and communication experts who will work together to find concrete solutions and projects in strategic and diversified fields.
The Big Hack is the perfect context to “get the hands dirty” on projects them believe in.
The Big Hack offers them a unique opportunity to blend creativity and technical skills to build something new and incredibly interesting.
Since 2016, The Big Hack has helped over 2,000 participants navigate the fabulous world of tech innovation, and over 40 sponsoring organizations to closely observe future innovators and closely monitor them, along with their projects, so to identify “outsiders”. the “beautiful heads” to take on board within their teams.
Morover, Many successful startups were first conceived during hackathons. The Big Hack is no exception.
For future tech entrepreneurs, but also for many “rearguard” innovators, The Big Hack represents a great way to prototype the first version of their solution, which could later become a real entrepreneurial project, or turn into a game-changing solution that the sponsor of the challenge could decide to adopt.
The Big Hack, is then certainly among the most exciting hackathons on the innovation sprint scene: a melting pot of interesting ideas, creative thinking and skills that come together and give life to something entirely new.
Over the years, The Big Hack has always been hosted in locations of great charm and suggestion – even a museum, the Capodimonte Museum in Naples! This year goes digital but you won’t miss the usual fun!
The 2022 format of The Big Hack 2022
The format is the usual one of the hackathons: a marathon at the turn of the weekend from 24 to 27 June (submissions due by sunday June 26, 8.00 pm CEST), full of prestigious guests, speakers and mentors: because you have to stay focussed but you also have to do it while having fun!
The working method is ‘phygital’: the headquarters will be Naples but you can participate from the comfort of your home and work fully online. Your team may even be ‘scattered’ around the world!
The partners
Extremely tempting challenges, proposed by high-level sponsors, make The Big Hack a phenomenal “accelerator” for the success of so many innovators. Eni, Acea, Almaviva, Thales Alenia Space, VMware are the first partners of this 2022 edition; others will be added soon.

How to participate
You can participate solo, and form a team directly during The Big Hack, or in a team with friends / colleagues (minimum 3, maximum 5 participants)
