The world of teletypewriters and the telex service as it was yesterday and as it has been brought back to life today in the age of the Internet. Is it possible to chat with a 1950s teletypewriter in a collector’s network around the world, or to ‘punch’ a text on a perforated tape or write an e-mail to the teletypewriter? Yes, it can be done. TELEX the Teleprinter Reloaded is a project developed by Riccardo Romagnoli and will be featured at Maker Faire Rome 2021.
International group of collectors
Riccardo Romagnoli developed the project together with an international group of collectors of teletypewriters dedicated to the preservation of teletypewriters and organized in a forum.
Machines that have made the history of telecommunications
The group includes collectors from Italy, Australia, Europe, America and Canada of all age groups, who exchange ideas and carry out projects to keep machines that have made the history of telecommunications functioning and online.
