After a Degree in Law, I kept studying in a Post-Graduate Master Course in Food Law, focusing in particular on IP protection in the agri-food sector. Working in Barzanò & Zanardo since 2016, I developed my professional skills as a consultant both for trademarks and other distinctive signs. These skills and experiences allow me to build up tailor-made protection strategies, with specific attention to the peculiarities of each case. I assist clients in the protection of their trademarks both in Italy and abroad, ranging from preliminary activities to filing and legal matters, as well as Geographical Indications (PDO, PGI and TSG).

Licensed attorney at the European Patent Office, licensed attorney in patents and design at the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, licensed attorney in design at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), industrial property attorney with the Republic of San Marino, technical consultant in the industrial property section of the Court of Rome and qualified as European Patent Litigator.

I have extensive knowledge in the field of chemical engineering and support clients from the development phase on, enabling them to achieve the best possible position on the market and maintaining an edge over the competition. I am a substitute member of the board of the European Patent Institute (EPI); Secretary of the Harmonisation Committee and associate member of the European Patent Practice Committee of the European Patent Institute (EPI); member of the study group on designs of the Italian Board of Industrial Property Consultants; coordinator of the Rome office of the basic training course on European Patent Law of the Centre d’Etudes Internationales De la Propriété Industrielle (CEIPI) – University of Strasbourg; on-call speaker at the European Patent Academy of the European Patent Office (EPO). Ilenia Pecoraro

I started my professional activity in the field of industrial property at Barzanò & Zanardo in 2022. Prior to joining the Barzanò & Zanardo team, I obtained a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering. My university education allowed me to develop technical knowledge in various areas of mechanics, electronics, and computer science, enabling me to understand inventions in these fields and to propose the most appropriate protection strategies. In particular, I am involved in analysis of new inventions, drafting and prosecution of patent applications, patent and design searches.
