Digital transformation and health and safety: tools for analyzing new and emerging risks in work settings - Trasformazione digitale e salute e sicurezza: strumenti di analisi dei rischi nuovi ed emergenti nei contesti lavorativi
Inail
To ensure a safe and sustainable digital transformation, it is essential to assess the new risks arising from the introduction of specific technological solutions in production contexts, right from the initial design and implementation phases, defining roles, spaces, tasks and responsibilities in a timely, shared and conscious manner. In addition, workers involved in the transformation of workplaces and tools need to be adequately informed and trained so that they are able to manage change and at the same time seize the opportunities offered by digital transformation to improve their skills.
In such a context, however, traditional methods for identifying and assessing risks to workers health and safety are not always suitable for assessing the system as a whole, taking into account all its characteristics. New safety assessment paradigms and methods are therefore needed to take account of the growing complexity of working environments, such as those that exploit the logic underlying Resilience Engineering (RE).
The tools made available to companies for self-assessment of risk management methods and training strategies, linked to specific technological solutions, are presented. The tools have also been developed on the basis of the results of the BRIC 2019-ID50 Tradars research project on testing the RAG (Resilience Analysis Grid) methodology for assessing the potential state of resilience of organisations in terms of health and safety as a function of the implementation of cobot technology.
