The 'Hazard Response Mission Pack' is a kit of various devices for emergency and disaster management, which is part of the 'Advanced Perception Systems 101' educational course from Seeedstudio.
It includes tools for monitoring and responding quickly to possible emergencies related to sudden climate changes and the many disasters we are slowly becoming accustomed to. It uses various technologies, from LoRaWAN to Machine Learning.
It is an evolving kit, its content may change based on user feedback. This concept will be discussed in a 2-hour workshop for about ten participants.
Participants will be explained how SenseCAP sensors work, how to balance and create communication between them, and how to integrate them into more complex automation and monitoring systems.Participants will be explained how SenseCAP sensors work, how to balance and create communication between them, and how to integrate them into more complex automation and monitoring systems. We’ll be focusing on Computer Vision possibilities that some of these modules allow, as well ad the latest SenseCAP tracker T1000 and its localization capabilities
No previous skills are required, only a desire to learn!
Students or groups of students may be asked to install an app on their smartphones to control and usedevices, and interact with services through the browser (better to have a PC, then)

Davide Gomba
Davide Gomba is an Italian maker and storyteller. He’s fond of creating (meaningful) conversations around different topics such as IoT, STEAM, Domotics, Design Fiction, Agro and Wearable Tech. Alongside the Arduino Team until 2016. He promoted maker culture in Italy, takling part in the foundation of its very first Italian Fablab in 2011. As a creative technologist, he’s been designing experiences around tech and culture, such as Fablabforkids (STEAM, kids, science), Ruralhack (IoT, bottom-up tech agriculture), Home Automation (based on the experience of Casa Jasmina) and Industrial IoT with Seeedstudio. Together with Seeed, he joined the development and storytelling of the Hazard Response Mission Pack, which mixes “iot into the wild” 2022 Seeed’s challenge with Environmental disasters, an escalating phenomena that threatens the delicate coexistence between humans and nature on our shared planet.
