Arrow-Indiegogo Partnership: your highway to market at Maker Faire Rome!

Visit Arrow Electronics at booth 7.A.11 to take the next step towards getting your prototype ready for production

As a maker, you are passionate about your product. You have developed your idea and prototype, tested it, and now you need to know if there is a market for itYou come to Maker Faire Rome looking for solutions to production, marketing, financing and to find potential partners that can help you take your project to the next level.

One of the main objectives of Maker Faire Rome, as part of the European Maker Week, is to form partnerships between makers and the industry—to help passionate entrepreneurs realize their cutting-edge technologies and innovations in this competitive market.

  • An ideal partnership

Arrow and Indiegogo have partnered together to help makers reach their market in a timely fashion. While the relationship is still new, what with it having been formalized in May just last year, both companies are steadfast in their goal—provide today’s makers with the means to get their ideas into production.

Indiegogo campaigns that qualify through Arrow’s Certification Program will receive direct access to a range of exclusive Arrow services, including design tools, prototyping services, manufacturing support, and engineering experts. Arrow’s European engineering team, with more than 350 application engineers, is also available to help address any and all technical needs.

Arrow and Indiegogo
  • Why you should visit the Arrow-Indiegogo booth

The Arrow-Indiegogo partnership is the right fit for you as a Maker Faire attendee. A visit to the Arrow booth (7.A.11) will allow you to discuss the potential market for your product with an on-hand subject matter expert and receive guidance when it comes to the technical and financial next steps of bringing your product to market.

Applying to Arrow’s Certification Program will also help you refine your product for the market, as you need to do due diligence and challenge your assumptions. It will give you the tools to make your project ready for the crowdfunding campaign and succeed.

One successful example is Elemental Path’s smart toy STEMosaur, which has raised over $186,000 on Indiegogo. The toy engages children with kid-friendly content that is educational and fun. Kids can play games with their STEMosaur, ask it endless questions and even try meditation. The Elemental Path team spent three months getting ready to launch, and they made getting their technology Arrow-certified a top priority. Now the product is ready to ship in time for this year’s holiday season.

As an additional benefit of the Arrow-Indiegogo program, a visit to the booth could also provide you with free access to the IBM Watson IoT platform via Bluemix[1], which includes industry-leading cloud services, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, advanced data analytics and cybersecurity for IoT.

Watson IoT services running on the IBM Cloud are designed to help engineers and makers test prototypes and get products ready. The Arrow-Indiegogo program with IBM includes the free use of the Watson IoT Platform to develop IoT software, as well as up to 50 hours of training free of charge.
