Circular Design @ Iuav
The Università Iuav di Venezia presents at the Maker Faire 2020 a selection of teaching and research projects dedicated to Circular Economy and developed in the Design area.
Here you will find:
. Circulus.it: an online platform to learn more about the circular economy and play with its keywords. In the platform you will find some pages dedicated to supporting Italian SMEs and evaluating their level of circularity;
. Sustainable gamification, learning sustainability by playing: the project of a series of pinball machines made by the students of the master's degree course in Product Design of the university with prof. Maximiliano Romero to playfully teach, to a wide audience, the aspects of sustainability, from ocean pollution to climate change;
. The Second Life: a showcase of examples of upcycling projects born from the collaboration between students, designers and companies and 4 Dialogues on the circular economy to stimulate new models of production and consumption.

The team
Iuav is a small university, entirely dedicated to the project.
Established in 1926 as a University Institute of Architecture in Venice, in 2001 the university became the “Iuav University of Venice” and added to the historical architecture the faculties of territorial planning and design and arts.
In 2018 Iuav the new Statute came into force thanks to which Iuav recovers the status of "special school" that defines it since its foundation and which offers the possibility of reorganizing itself outside the constraints of the Gelmini law, guaranteeing organizational simplification and management operations .
Among the most relevant innovations is the assignment of management functions to a single department in Project Cultures.
The Iuav University of Venice is today a place of teaching, higher education and research in the field of designing spaces and environments inhabited by man and is the only university in Italy entirely dedicated to teaching and research in the field of design disciplines. :
