Lego-based sorting production system model

Having in mind that the technique of simulation-based optimization is often utilized in order to perform an analysis of a production system to find its best configuration, the aim of this project was to generate practical exercise as a tool to teach simulation-based optimization to students using a physical Lego factory. This Lego factory provides a setting that is close to reality, and optimizing its production assists students to deepen their understandings of simulation-based
optimization. Moreover, the aim of the project is the simulation of real production system whose elements are built with Lego robots. Visitors will be able to see the position of the synchronized operation of several machines such as pneumatic press with compressor, sorting machines, robotic arms for manipulating work pieces, belt conveyor course, forklifts, etc ..
