Design, design everywhere!
ADI is arriving at Maker Faire, The European Edition 2018, the Italian stage of the world's largest innovation review and which is showcasing ten innovative products selected by ADI Lazio through an open call for companies and designers registered with ADI and two special projects. An exhibition in collaboration with CONI is added to these which presents products for sport.
The space, custom-designed by Dario Curatolo, is entitled Design, design everywhere! and is an opportunity to take a trip through the latest and most innovative features in design. It ranges from the extractor hood that is activated autonomously to the latest generation of city bikes, passing through garments and technological furniture designed to save energy and respect the environment.
There will also be guests of honour including Fabio Lenci, doyen of Italian designers (over seven hundred projects created from 1963 to today) and two special projects. The first is FL08, an aircraft for non-professional sport pilots designed by Lenci for the advanced ultralight category while the other project is Canna di fucile 2011, the pasta presented with the ADI Compasso d'Oro International Award in 2015, produced by the Fratelli Setaro pasta factory and designed by architect and designer Michele Cuomo. " ADI’s mission is to promote design in all areas and to make it clear what design culture is" says Marika Aakesson, president of ADI Lazio. "Good design is that which interprets contemporaneity and translates it into products and services that are useful for consumers, citizens and the community in general. If we look back in history, design, technology and innovation have always been closely linked to one another: this is why ADI is participating in the Maker Faire, in order to guarantee its contribution to a review that gives space to the best of production focused on the future ".
The exhibition of sports products organized as part of the collaboration between ADI and CONI will feature a presentation of objects that have won the Compasso d'Oro or a Mention of Honour in the 2017 edition of the ADI Compasso d'Oro International Award dedicated to the theme Sport: Performance and innovation, ranging from the Stealth mountaineering helmet to the Pro Armour motorcycle shield and from the Lotto Zhero Gravity football boots to the Strapless Grip ski poles.
