The ITS Umbria Academy is a post-diploma specialization academy funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, the central Italian region of Umbria and private entities and companies. Its purpose is to train young advanced technicians who are immediately ready to be hired in specialized jobs, contributing to the dissemination of technical and scientific culture.
Proof of the success of this goal are the results that our students have achieved and still achieve today, collaborating with the realities of the national and international territory.
Today we present the Mobile App project for Air Tender.
The idea stems from the desire to implement the revolutionary Air Tender suspension model, a prototype designed and built by our students in 2019, in collaboration with the Umbria Kinetics company, currently the company that owns the Air Tender patent.
Since its launch, the 2019 prototype is increasingly entering the market. To date, for example, it is used by the Honda brand, and mounted on some racing motorcycle models.
An Air Tender system was mounted on a motorcycle that participated in the last Paris Dakar.
The next step, at this point, as agreed with Umbria Kinetics itself, now our partner for projects in the Research and Development area, is therefore to design the setting tool for the automatic adjustment of the Air Tender suspension.
The 2020 project will deal with the design and prototyping of the setting tool, the creation of the necessary sensors and the related App thanks to which, from his mobile phone, the owner of the motorcycle can set the suspension, according to the specific and immediately synchronized data.
This is the definitive evolution of this revolutionary suspension model that will lead our students to identify the technological solution for measurement and control (identification of the appropriate sensors and related actuators) and to create the App that will control its operation in automatic and no longer manually.
Surely a young project developed in collaboration with an innovative startup in the area that will lead to the digitization of the AirTender through a verticalization of different technologies.
The main protagonists of this new step in the world of technological evolution will be the course classes:

• SUPERIOR TECHNICIAN FOR AUTOMATION AND MECHATRONIC SYSTEMS: Profile able to program, manage and control automation systems and carry out checks and testing of products with innovative measurement systems, such as three-dimensional measuring machines, optical or laser scanning for reconstruction of images and for reverse engineering


• SUPERIOR TECHNICIAN FOR AUTOMATION AND MECHATRONIC SYSTEMS WITH SPECIALIZATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF BUSINESS TECHNOLOGIES 4.0 .: a figure who is able to exploit the potential contained in an effective and efficient use of data, applying techniques and methods of data mining such as machine learning to extract knowledge from data, using platforms for Big Data processing, exploiting cloud computing infrastructures to ensure scalability and availability to processes and services.
  Our technicians, once again, in the Mobile App for Air Tender project will be able to give an example of how it is possible to redesign human-machine interaction, developing new automated prototypes and web and mobile applications to optimize the final result.
