Physics school with Open Source Boards and Smartphones

The school program consists of three full-time days for teachers to learn how to program with Arduino and use it as a tool for physics experiments in classrooms. The aim is to become a real maker, giving the tools to the participants to learn how to design and realize educational physics experiments, without the use of expensive tools (a general limit in scientific education). All the experiments must be conceived to be controlled in every step (from data management to the practical process) and with a specific educational goal.

Giovanni Organitini

Giovanni Organtini is Professor of Experimental Physics and Director of the Museum of Physics of Sapienza University of Rome. His research deals with elementary particle physics and has contributed to the discovery of the Higgs boson, for which he coordinated the construction of the photon detector that brought to the discovery. He participates in numerous scientific and innovation teaching projects of physics and in this role he has designed and conducted Physics Schools with Arduino and Smartphone.
