The Rainbow Project
The Rainbow Project is a homebrew computer using the Z80 CPU from the 80s. It's purpose is to teach computer architecture and programming. It has some unique features like LED boards showing the data moving in the system buses and an LCD display driven by its own microcontroller. The system is equipped with ROM, RAM, glue logic and an adjustable clock allowing it to run from a few Hz to about 4MHz. It is programmed in assembly language and includes fun demo programs to see how an actual computer works!
