The Digital Cosando Lab is an open, collaborative initiative founded in 2017 by Prof. Renzo Davoli and Prof. Marco Di Felice, supporting research and educational activities in the field of the Internet of Things and of the Digital Making at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, UNIBO. The DCL is freely accessible for students attending the Master Degree in Computer Science and it is equipped with instruments for micro/macro-fabrication and electronic design, sensor devices for area and building monitoring, heterogeneous wireless transceivers for sensor network design and deployment.

Renzo Davoli, Marco di Felice

Associate Professors of Computer Science.

Marco Di Felice (http://www.cs.unibo.it/difelice) received his PH.D. in Computer Science in 2008 from the University of Bologna, Italy. From August 2007 to December 2007 and April 2008 to August 2008 he was a visiting researcher in the Broadband Wireless Networking Laboratory, School of Electrical and Computer Engeneering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA. From September to December 2009, he was a visiting researcher at the Northeastern University, Boston, USA. Since October 2015, he is Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Bologna.
He authored more than 90 international Journal and Conference Publications on Wireless and Mobile systems, protocols, modeling and simulation. He is Associate Editor of the Ad Hoc Network journal (Elsevier) and member of the technical committee of Computer Communications journal (Elsevier). He was Program Co-Chair of VTC-Fall 2015 (Next Generation Wireless Symposium), of the IFIP 16th International Conference on Wired/Wireless Internet Communications (IFIP WWIC 2018), of the the IEEE 11th International Workshop on Wireless Sensor, Robot and UAV Networks (IEEE WiSARN 2018), of the International Workshop on Emerging COgnitive Radio Applications and aLgorithms (IEEE CORAL 2012, IEEE CORAL 2013, IEEE CORAL 2015, IEEE CORAL 2016), and of the First International Workshop on Self-Organizing Wireless Access Networks for Smart CITY (IEEE SWANSITY 2014). He joint the following national and European research projects: PRIN 2006 NADIR, PRIN 2009 STEM-NET, ARTEMIS Internet-of-Energy (IoE), ARTEMIS Arrowhead.
His research activity includes: the design, analysis and performance evaluation of Wireless and Mobile protocols and architectures, robotic wireless networks and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), self-organizing wireless systems and Device-to-Device (D2D) communication, sensor networks and the Internet of Things (IoT), context-aware and mobile computing.
