3Bee Hive-Tech
Hive-Tech is an innovative IoT monitoring system for hive. Through its sensors, information about weight, temperature, humidity, and sound are collected. The data are sent to the cloud and analyzed to identify diseases and anomalies. The users can access data thanks to an online dashboard. Algorithms will be develop to early detect illnesses, reducing bees' mortality rate. The way in which apiaries are managed will change, from chemical to data driven solutions, helping beekeepers to reduce costs and improve the production. The system can be easily adapted to other livestock (pigs, broiler)

Niccolo Calandri e Riccardo Balzaretti
Niccolo CALANDRI, PhD: CEO & Product Developer - born in 1989 in Como, Italy. In 2011, he received a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. In 2013, he obtained his master's degree with magna cum laude in Electrical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano. In February 2017, he graduated as a PhD student at the Politecnico di Milano. During the doctorate, he worked for one year and half at the University of Sydney, at the Center of quantum Computing and Communication, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston.
Riccardo BALZARETTI, PhD: Data Analyst & Beekeeper - born in 1988, in Como, Italy. In 2011, he received his bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences at the Università dell'Insubria Varese. In 2013, he obtained his master's degree in Biology with magna cum laude at the Università dell'Insubria Varese. In December 2016, he graduated as a PhD student at the Università dell'Insubria in Varese. In June 2015 and from June to August 2016 he worked with the CBNI lab at UCD Dublin.
