Centro per l’Artigianato Digitale (CAD)
The design idea is inspired by the Center for Digital Handicrafts, created by Medaarch in Cava de' Tirreni, the only place in Italy dedicated to the revival of artisan activities that exploits the potential of new technologies of digital fabrication. To MFR18, the space will be animated by the following activities: pottery, glass, steel, gold, skin, wood,pastry making and packaging. Each participating artisan will conduct both design and processing activities, and disclosure that mix the classic manufacturing techniques with the new digital instruments.

Medaarch SRL STP is a company operating in the field of consultancy, training, research and design specialized in technologies of Digital Fabrication which has the objective to create a positive impact on the manufacture, the education, the work and the Future of cities. The company, formed in December 2015, already historically worked in the sector since 2008 as an association and through the work of its founding partners. The Medaarch has developed on various lines of activity:
-Design for architecture and engineering thanks to the use of new technologies of computational design and digital fabrication.
-Mediterranean FabLab, first laboratory of digital fabrication of southern Italy, recognized by the MIT-Mediterranean Academy of Architecture: research, development and training center on architectural design in digital era.
-Mediterranean Sustainable Lab, a space dedicated to the creation of a laboratory of agriculture, Food and energy for a resilient community.
-FabLab Salerno, Digital Manufacturing Laboratory, recognized by the Fab Fondation and aimed at the development of Solutions and projects in architecture and urban redevelopment.
