3DiTALY and Formlabs illustrate a series of case histories on 3D printing applied to the restoration of artworks in the Museums. Thanks to these processes visitors can see them in their ancient splendor and not just imagine them. Digital tools such as 3D scanners, 3D CAD software and the Formlabs Form 2 3D printer help the restorer to carry out projects that he would otherwise have had to abandon. The restorer can quickly and accurately reconstruct missing parts of the artwork without having to rely on external professional services.
