SAN, a self-aware construction kit
The elements in the construction kit are spheres and rods. On a computer screen, you see in real-time how you connected the elements.
Realization: The spheres are 3D printed. Inside the spheres are Arduinos that communicate serially through the rods. Via USB a computer receives information about new connections and about connections that have been broken. A genetic algorithm guesses the positions of the spheres in space. The result is shown in a web browser.
You can play with the elements and assemble what you like. I am happy to explain how the system is realized.
The project is fully open-source.
