About the waste “cheese whey”, the valorisation approach is based on both membrane pretreatment in order to separate all added-value products and also on sugars fermentation in order to transform theme in bioproducts such as microbial biomasses for application in food or pharmaceutichal industry and lactic acid for applications in bioplastics after chemical polimerization in PLA (polilactic acid).
Several research activities have been conducted in order to extract poliphenolic compounds with antioxidant activity from wastes such as olive oil production residues and bamboo residues.
