The design of aeronautical configurations is an extremely complex and multidisciplinary process. It requires a synergic use of numerical and experimental analysis tools, in order to create an efficient and at the same time reliable product. In this process are involved and combined aspects concerning aerodynamics, structural dynamics, propulsion, aeroelasticity, aeroacoustics, flight dynamics and control of the aircraft. This presentation is intended to be a brief introduction the numerical/experimental research activities in the aeronautical field that are carried out at the laboratories of the Department of Engineering of the Roma Tre University.
