L'officina degli errori: il tinkering va a scuola!
INAF, the National Institute for Astrophysics in Italy, is making an effort to design a series of educational techniques and to communicate with society involving a large audience with the aim of disseminating scientific and astrophysical culture and of stimulating interest in space exploration, in scientific research as well as in its mechanisms, technologies and challenges. Within this framework we developed tinkering activities following the tinkering studio "classic" letting the kids be the protagonist of the game instead of letting them know how we think and work when we do research.

Our tinkering activities have been developed by the Cryowaves team at INAF-OAS Bologna. This experimental group has been involved in large space project such as the Planck ESA/NASA satellite, ballon borne experiments, millimetric technologies and data analysis. We are currently developing new cryogenic technologies for the observation of the sky from ground. Standing from our cultural background we believe these activities are fundamental to allow people to direct experiment and understand science and its methods but they are also an extraordinary learning approach for what they activate in the classroom community and in the society overall
