SensingCheese 4.0

Smart pecorino cheese wheels communicate their seasoning state through wireless sensors and an app for the tablet. The SensingCheese4.0 project improves the cheese production process through on-line and real-time control of the chemical-physical parameters of the caciotta in maturation. More control means better production and optimization of resources. SensingCheese4.0 is an innovation that uses Internet of Things and Cloud Computing technologies to optimize traditional cheese production by providing greater control and support for decisions during maturation.

FONDAZIONE ITS FILIERA AGRO-ALIMENTARE DELLA SARDEGNA

The "Sensing Cheese 4.0" project is the result of the MIUR initiative and the Ca 'Foscari University of Venice with "ITS 4.0", a project that aims to prepare the students of Italian ITS to the methods of the new industry. "Sensing Cheese 4.0" was developed by ITS TAGSS students of the courses of "production and processing of food" and "promotion and marketing of agri-food" in collaboration with the companies Primo Principio (ICT) and F.lli Pinna (cheese factory).
