La matematica del traffico

La matematica del traffico

Drive a toy car in our circuit: you shall see that if you drive like a robot, and everybody else drives like
you, you won’t have to stop. But if you or somebody else gets distracted you will have to wait in queue,
even if there are no bottlenecks on the road. If there are bottlenecks what do you expect on the circuit?
Passionate yourself to one of the more difficult problems in today’s science, and discover how the math
may help our life

Riccardo Mariani e Benedetto Scoppola

Benedetto Scoppola: Full professor in mathematical physics in the Math department of Universita’ di
Roma Tor Vergata. He studies queueing systems and car traffic using mathematical models. He is also
a researcher in statistical mechanics.
Riccardo Mariani: Post Doc in mathematical physics in the Math department of Universita’ di Roma Tor
Vergata. In his PhD thesis he investigated the properties of the car traffic when a bottleneck appears in
the systems
