BioSfera, insetti commestibili per un futuro sostenibile

BioSfera, insetti commestibili per un futuro sostenibile

Biosphere, is a malleable and transparent sphere, produced with the technique of cold Spherification, in which the insects is immersed in a fluid consisting of lemon, honey and water. I chosed honey, basically a product of the insects, for the visual and taste impact, but also to arouse reflection on the sense of disgust. According to my research, the ideal for consumers, it is a single-pack snack, in this case of 5 ml, that only come into contact with the most "attractive" configuration. The package, consisting of a three-dose blister and a recycled paper box, tells the nutritional information and the environmental impact and the saving of resources that eating insects would entail.

BioSfera, insetti commestibili per un futuro sostenibile

Daniela Curion, Università La Sapienza

My polyhedric and curious nature let me study various fields. Drawing, Arts, Music, Cooking and Sustainability are some of my interests. In my previous degree I focused on Cinema because I wanted to be a set designer. By working on stage I decided to do something more practical and I moved to Product Design. My perspective now is to learn as much as possible and begin to work in the Eco-design field. To describe myself I could say: versatile, persevering, imaginative.
I'm an industrial designer. I graduated in Sapienza University, with a thesis in Food Design. I obtained 110/110 with honor and te right of pubblication.
Sustainability and recycling are some of my interests. I'm curious and pragmatic, this makes me believe that doing my best in each project I do, is the only way I can design. I'm able to design the full design process, but the part I prefere is when I meet the costumers and they tell me their opinion about it, this is the best way to always improve your skills and understand which is the real meaning of Design.
