Assistive technology - Helping the disabled and blind with simple electronics
Rotation based distance sensing device can be attached to a blind cane so that distance can be known from the servo arm rotation. Servo arm rotates when the object comes closer to the distance sensor and the arm goes to the start position if there are no obstacles in the way of the sensor. By having a finger on the servo arm one can know the distance of objects.
Vibration based distance sensing device can be attached to a human hand, blind cane or a cap. The distance is indicated by the frequency of vibration. The closer the object gets it vibrates more frequently indicating there is an obstacle.
