Vintage Design by ANA chron.
ANA chron. is a small Viennese label that handcrafts bags and purses from vintage books. The original bookcover is preserved and turned into an item that can be used in daily life. I mostly look for books that are able to tell a story, inside as well as outside. Signatures, inscriptions, doodles and notes of previous owners are worked into the bags. The imperfection of the sometimes stained vintage material is what makes the item richer and unique. All bags are handmade, using leather, fabric and lots of rivets, and they are all one of a kind, no two bags look alike. The idea behind ANA chron. is to take vintage items and give them a purpose in a new setting.
Austria
Tamara Neubauer (ANA chron.)
Born in upper Austria, raised in limbo between urban and rural life, I went on to study social sciences in Vienna. My professional life has been quite diverse but in my late twenties I re-discovered my passion for crafting. Since then I have been self-employed, teaching kids with learning difficulties on the one hand and setting up my vintage design label on the other hand. Right now, I am working on developing a series of hands-on workshops for children and adults.
