New generation Collaborative Robotic Technologies for Improving Productivity and Workers' Well-being

New generation Collaborative Robotic Technologies for Improving Productivity and Workers' Well-being

One of the main research directions of the HRI² laboratory (https://hri.iit.it) of the Italian Institute of Technology, is to create reconfigurable and adaptive collaborative robotic systems that rest on the principles of lean manufacturing. From one hand, their loco-manipulation potential will enable fast reconfiguration to various applications, hence minimizing waste associated with robot waiting times and cost.
On the other hand, their real-time and autonomous capabilities to adapt to the task requirements and their counterparts' (such as humans) kinodynamic states will contribute to the creation of high-performance and ergonomic working environments.
To illustrate this potential, the HRI² laboratory will demonstrate the application of the new MObile Collaborative Robot Assistant (MOCA) in ergonomic human-robot task sharing and remote tele-manipulation control.
