Elastic Collaborative Robot
Human-Robot collaboration is the new paradigma in 21th-century automation. European Project FourByThree designed a new concept of elastic industrial robots to realize an effective and safe collaboration between human and robot. Each motor of the robot has an elastic element that reduces the impact forces during contacts. The robot is controlled by an open-source control system running in the Robotic Operation System (ROS) and Ubuntu 18.04.
CNR-STIIMA performs strategic activities of Scientific Research and Technological Development for the Competitiveness and Sustainability of Italian and European Manufacturing Industries. Recently, the competences developed in the manufacturing field have been exploited in emerging areas related to the use of advanced technologies for healthcare, Internet of Things, Ambient Intelligence, Ambient Assisted Living and Context Awareness.
