SSV Solid State Variac

SSV Solid State Variac

SSD Variac is a laboratory power supply with variable sinusoidal voltage from 0 to 230V RMS with frequency from 50 to 100 Hz (lower frequencies can be obtained for voltages lower than 230V untill 2 Hz), 350W of power, galvanic insulation from the mains.
The heart of the power supply is an Arduino Uno equipped with a simple motor shield used to create an inverter.
It is proposed to replace the classic electromagnetic variac by adding the pluses of variable frequency and insulation from the electrical grid.

Daniele Vetrucci

Born in Fiorenzuola D'Arda (PC) the 01/10/74, in Lugagnano val d'Arda (PC) I attended the local elementary and middle schools.
From 1988 to 1993 I attended the ITIS Guglielmo Marconi in Piacenza, where I graduated in electrical engineering. The same year I started the University and precisely the faculty of electrical engineering at the University of Pavia. After five and a half years, on 29/9/99 I graduated in electrical engineering.
Also at my Alma Mater I passed the state exam for the qualification to the profession of engineer on 12/13/99.
After graduation, I started the dual profession of teacher of technical subjects at ITIS G. Marconi and of freelance design engineer. I have always cultivated the hobby of repairs and electronics in general.
