Sistema fotocatalitico modulare
The prototype refers to a completely stand-alone miniaturised and modular photocatalytic system which, when exposed to solar radiation, is able to promote the reduction of the organic load contained in the treated water, allowing the simultaneous direct conversion of solar energy into hydrogen. The technology is based on the photo-excitation of tungsten trioxide electrodes works in an aqueous environment under solar illumination. This process lowers the operating costs of the plant, generates clean fuel and has a reduced environmental impact compared to current systems.
Prof. Donato Vincenzi
Associate Professor at the University of Ferrara, Graduated in Physics at the University of Ferrara with a score of 110/110 laude discussing a thesis on the photoluminescence properties of porous silicon (October 27, 1998). PhD in Physics at the University of Ferrara on the design of a silicon chip chromatographic gas microsystem (January 28, 2002). Winner of the "Oral Presentation Award" awarded by the International Commission for Optics and ICTP, 12 February 2010, Trieste. Winner of the "Premio Sapio per la Ricerca Italiana", 20 January 2009, Palazzo Marino, Milan.
