Spark srl: Rovers for exploration

The project is an autonomous rover that enables the exploration and mapping of inaccessible environments for humans. The rover has been designed to address a specific issue in archaeology, which is the inability to access underground areas due to high risk or narrow spaces.
Thanks to its compact design, our rover can explore the environment and create an accurate 3D map of the environment using artificial intelligence algorithms to provide autonomous functionalities.
The map will then be analyzed by researchers to obtain valuable information about the historical context.

Spark Srl

The project is managed by Alessandro Ardito and Massimiliano Mattioli, two of the founders of Spark Srl, a startup that develops, produces, and markets hardware and software solutions for IoT and robotics.
The rover is developed by Alessio Parmeggiani and Gianmarco Maisano using their great expertise in the development of rovers. The team will take advantage of the precious contribution of Prof. Antonio Genova in the robotics field, professor of Space Robotics Systems in Sapienza University of Rome and leader of the SPRING group.
