Tecnologie Wi-Fi Sensing: Individuazione e Re-identificazione delle persone
The project addresses person detection and re-identification tasks via Wi-Fi signals. Specifically, using low-energy and low-consumption devices such as ESP32, it is possible to analyze electromagnetic waves of the Wi-Fi signal that are altered by the presence of human beings standing between the two devices. Following a pre-processing phase, artificial intelligence was exploited to detect the presence or re-identify a human being while also respecting their privacy. The prototype comes with a MATLAB interface that allows one to visually inspect the effectiveness of the designed algorithms.
Alessio Fagioli, Marco Cascio, Daniele Pannone, Danilo Avola
Alessio Fagioli is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics, University of Udine. Since 2017 he is a senior member of the Computer Vision Laboratory (VisionLab) at the Department of Computer Science, Sapienza University (Rome), where he is actively working on different projects ranging from affect recognition from RGB videos to medical image analysis under the supervision of Professors Luigi Cinque and Danilo Avola. Alessio’s research topics mainly focus on Computer Vision, Machine/Deep Learning algorithms, and Signal Processing.
