DoMoMEA: telerehabilitation for stroke patients
DoMoMEA provides a complete rehabilitation protocol counting 14 exercises. The system consists of an Android TV-box connected to a TV and communicating with wearable inertial and force sensors positioned on the patient's body. The sensors’ data are used to calculate the parameters necessary for the patient assessment and to animate the user interfaces developed in non-immersive VR according to the exergaming approach, which guide the patient during rehab. The clinical data are sent to a server via an encrypted Internet connection and are accessible through a dedicated web app.

The DoMoMEA project is coordinated by Danilo Pani, Ph.D., associate professor of biomedical engineering at the University of Cagliari. He has a long-standing experience in the field of conception, design, development, validation and usability analysis of medical devices and systems for several applications (telerehabilitation for patients with hand impairment, telemedicine for cardiac and diabetic patients, tele-care for the elderly,…), and advanced electrophysiological signal processing.
