Coil Manager - Bobinatrice
The Coil Manager is a support machine that fits into the context of making, within a FabLab, a laboratory for rapid prototyping or even for individual users. It is useful for managing and transferring the thread used for FDM prints (Deposition by thread melted). The machine allows to transfer the desired quantity of wire, in grams, from a full reel to an empty one, thus being able to distribute the same type of wire on several reels and use them simultaneously on several printers, reducing the waste of material, exhausted reels and the need to buy new ones.
Giovanni Colaneri, Mario Baioli
Giovanni Colaneri, graduating in Design at Sapienza. I started working as a fellow in the Fab Lab of the Faculty of Architecture at the beginning of the second year, thus becoming interested in the world of rapid prototyping, making and laboratory instrumentation. At the end of the scholarship, I continued my work by deepening Arduino and its potential, reconciling them with the subjects of the course. Mario Baioli is the laboratory manager. A fundamental input was his need to transfer the thread, then giving the maximum support and help to the project.
