What we already thought would be a fun trip turned out to be so much more: the love and enthusiasm of the exhibitors, attendees and Maker Faire Rome’s team for innovation, education, and general celebration of the maker movement was awe-inspiring. There is so much to see that a single year in attendance is not enough, so if you ever get the opportunity, head to this show, soak in the sea of inventions, and make some great friends along the way.

Arlok
Arlok is a simple educational (STEM) Robot based on Arduino Uno with parts printed in 3D and all easy-available components. 3D-printed parts are big, easy to manipulate and can be printed even by cheap 3D-printers. Arlok is highly customizable: there are a lot of printable parts allowing you to make your unique robot. There are some programming examples that will make this robot moving around avoiding obstacles, following a line on the floor or let you control it using your cellphone with Android app. All source codes, STLs and instructions are provided on the Github repository.

Maker, Blogger, Retrogamer, passionate about vintage technology, coding and 3D-printing. He writes tutorials on internet since 1999 and actually has a blog, www.settorezero.com, since 2007 where he publish news and tutorials about microcontrollers and embedded electronics. Born and Raised with a Commodore 64 he still uses.
