Metodi green innovativi e sostenibili di bioraffinazione per produrre frazioni biologiche di valore da biomasse microbiche/ Novel green and sustainable biorefinery methods to produce valuable biological fractions from microbial biomass
This project deals with the pretreatment of microbial and microalgal biomass to obtain lipids, proteins and carbohydrates to be used in the food, feed and cosmetic domains. Highly interesting carotenoids, such as astaxanthin, can also be obtained.
The method concerns the use of in-situ modifiable (such as switchable and deep eutectic) solvents, that enable a simpler and more sustainable treatment of the biomass to separate said fractions and compounds.
