What we already thought would be a fun trip turned out to be so much more: the love and enthusiasm of the exhibitors, attendees and Maker Faire Rome’s team for innovation, education, and general celebration of the maker movement was awe-inspiring. There is so much to see that a single year in attendance is not enough, so if you ever get the opportunity, head to this show, soak in the sea of inventions, and make some great friends along the way.

MSA-MultiSafetyAlarm
MultiSafetyAlarm, MSA, is a wearable multi-sensor device, characterized by its compact size, cost-effectiveness, versatility and long battery life. Its aim is to monitor environmental conditions and vital signs of the user in different kind of working environments in order to carry out a local analysis. The MSA device consists of an armband containing a set of sensors that is managed by a microcontroller. MSA is able to indicate the attainment of the critical threshold for temperature, gas, noise and blood saturation through a set of four LEDs.
Antonio Gagliardi, Maria Gambelli, Alessio Pirani, Sara Reda
The MSA team was born in Rome at the Faculty of Engineering of the Sapienza University by the will of four students: Antonio Gagliardi, last year student of the master's degree in Electronic Engineering and Maria Gambelli, Alessio Pirani and Sara Reda students of the last year of the master's degree in Nanotechnology Engineering. They meet during the Innovative Sensing Nanoelectronic Devices course and begin developing the MSA device in the spring of 2022. This is the group's first project.
