Bioeconomy Village
What is the circular bioeconomy and what are the bio-based applications in everyday life? Visit the interactive house of the Bioeconomy Village to find out how the sustainable future is already a reality. The Bioeconomy Village, promoted by the European funded projects BIOVOICES and Transition2Bio and the EuBioNet, is an event format already tested at Maker Faire Rome 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
The benefits of the bioeconomy. The 2022 edition aims to raise public awareness and increase knowledge on products made by biological renewable resources and promote the applications and benefits of the bioeconomy, the circular economy and sustainability, encouraging dialogue and knowledge sharing among the general public and representatives of universities, research centers, projects, companies, associations and startups. Through the showcase of products, examples and practical demonstrations, visitors become aware of how the circular bioeconomy is increasingly part of our daily life and how the conscious consumers' choices have a positive impact on the environment, the society and the economy.
Visitors will find a recyclable cardboard house representing different domestic environments, in which it will be able to interact with the circular bioeconomy and bio-based products. A novelty this year is dedicated to the young generations who will be involved through an interactive book to discover what the circular bioeconomy is, in a playful way.
Primary school students and teachers will receive a free copy of the book "What's Bioeconomy?".
Bioeconomy Village
The Bioeconomy Village is a format developed in the context of projects funded by the European Commission to promote awareness and knowledge on topics related to sustainability and in particular to the circular and sustainable bioeconomy. The Bioeconomy Village brings the general public closer to the research domain, showing in a simple and intuitive way the innovations related to products of renewable biological origin, which represent a sustainable alternative to the fossil ones.
