RESCUE: engineeREd biodegradable vaSCUlar prosthEses

RESCUE is a revolutionary idea in the field of vascular surgery as it aims to overcome the limits that make vascular prostheses currently not available with a diameter less than 6.0 mm. Furthermore, it is engineered with bioactive compounds that make it not only a scaffold to support cellular growth but a material able to actively interact with cells. RESCUE could change the surgical procedures, avoiding the possibility to subject the patients to repeated interventions for the replacement of commonly used prostheses.
