The Agency for Digital Italy (AGID) is responsible for ensuring the attainment of the objectives of the Italian Digital Agenda (in accordance with the European Digital Agenda). The Agency fosters the use of information and communications technologies for encouraging innovation and economic growth. It supports the spread of digital innovation to contribute to the economic, cultural and social development of the country. The Agency works together with European, National and Regional Institutions which have similar goals, also through strategic agreements, for promoting digital literacy of citizens and enterprises, for creating new knowledge and development opportunities. AGID also carries out the necessary activities for the fulfillment of international obligations assumed by the State in the field of digital innovation, IT and Internet.
