Zolle
Zolle’s main activity since 2008 has been to deliver to the City of Rome food that is: produced or processed in the neighbouring rural areas; healthy for those who produce it and for those who consume it; delivered through appropriate commercial channels; delivered together with qualified information on the products themselves. Zolle works mainly with local family farms that use known crop or animal production techniques such as organic, biodynamic and IPM methods. The content of the boxes is prepared depending on what Zolle’s producers are able to provide on a daily basis.

Simona Limentani
Simona graduated in Philosophy with a dissertation on GMOs. In 2001 she starts working on supporting sustainable agriculture. In 2008 she sets up Zolle together with Ghila Debenedetti after having been inspired by a group of Japanese farmers who, starting from the 80s, deliver food to the City of Tokyo. Zolle is a home delivery scheme that radically changes the relationship between supply and demand in the agri-food sector. Simona’s aim is to support the local market and does so by working with small and medium enterprises that use non-intensive methods of cultivation and animal rearing. Today Zolle works with about 80 farms/agro-entreprises bases mainly in Lazio, the Region surrounding Rome. Simona and Ghila define the strategic thrust of the firm and coordinate the overall workplan. They also constantly seek new farms/agro-entreprises and products to increase their supply of food products for their clients.
